McCormick Animal Clinic is a full-service animal clinic serving the Nashville area with wellness, dental, surgery, boarding, and grooming services. We seek a veterinary assistant to triage, restrain pets, assist in exams, collect lab samples, and help with anesthesia and imaging.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant is required.
• Compassionate, calm, team player with strong communication.
• Vet tech license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Restrain pets safely and triage incoming patients.
• Assist in exam rooms and with procedures.
• Collect and analyze lab samples and radiographs.
• Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly with clients.

McCormick Animal Clinic is a full-service animal clinic serving the Nashville, TN (Donelson) area for over 30 years. Your pet’s health is very important to us and we will take every step to give your pet the best possible vet care. Our veterinarians and staffwork closely together to ensure your pet can have the best quality of life through our variety of vet services. Our animal hospital is equipped to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to better serve your pet including wellness care, dental exams, dental x-rays, spay and neuter, boarding, grooming, and more!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, assisting in exam rooms, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1-year experiencerequired.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Veterinary technician license ispreferred, but not required
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, andanesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $16-$19/hr
