Job summary

Alliance Animal Health in Greenwood, IN is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant. You will handle pet restraint, triage, collect lab samples, perform radiographs, assist anesthesia, and communicate treatment plans to clients. A compassionate, calm team player who can multi-task is preferred.

Pay range is $15-$18/hr with comprehensive benefits, background checks, and opportunities for professional development within a growing clinical team.

Qualifications

• Experienced Veterinary Assistant preferred with 1+ year experience.
• Ability to properly restrain pets and collect samples.
• Proficient in medical histories, lab tests, radiographs and anesthesia monitoring is a plus.
• Willingness to continue professional development and education.

Responsibilities

• Restrain patients and triage incoming cases.
• Perform lab sample collection and analysis, diagnostic imaging, nursing care.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly with clients and team.
• Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.
• Adhere to safety, sanitation and zoonosis prevention.

Job description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
• Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises.
• May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.
• As a part of the Alliance Animal Health family, you'll have opportunities to progress clinically and professionally through education and leadership training.

We're looking for:

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Pay Range: $15-$18/hr
