The Pet Doctor in Lakewood is seeking a passionate Veterinary Assistant to join our close-knit team on a full-time basis. We’re a well-established, small-animal practice with 50+ years in the community and no weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Safely restraining animals for examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
• Preparing exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites.
• Monitoring hospitalized patients.
• Assisting with basic patient care.
• Collecting and preparing laboratory samples as directed.
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment notes.
• Sterilizing and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment.
• Communicating professionally with pet owners.
• Assisting with client education.
• Helping maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinic environment.

What Our Veterinary Assistants Do

As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll work alongside our veterinarians and veterinary technicians to provide compassionate patient care while helping keep the hospital organized and running efficiently.
