Lakewood Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. You will help with examinations, treatments, and surgeries, while ensuring high standards of animal care and client service.

The role offers a full-time schedule of three 10-hour shifts, with no weekends. Prior veterinary assistant experience and comfort with animal handling are preferred; we provide ongoing training and employee discounts for pet families.

Qualifications

• 1+ year veterinary assistant experience.
• Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Comfort with basic lab work and maintaining clean, sterile environments.
• Strong communication with pet owners about care and follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.

• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples.
• Administer medications and vaccines under the supervision of a veterinarian.
• Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate with pet owners about care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits.
• Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe environment.

Veterinary Assistant

Lakewood Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Vet Assistant to work alongside our team of experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and devoted support staff to ensure each animal receives the best possible care during their stay with us. Salary:

$17-$20/hr. based on experience and skill set.

Schedule:

Three10 hour shifts 7:45 AM to 6:00 PM, NO WEEKENDS!
