VCA Village Park Animal Hospital in Carmel, IN is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join their team!

Schedule: Full-time position, 4 x 10-hour shifts.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience as a Veterinary assistant
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic understanding of animal behavior and restraint techniques.
• Compassion and empathy towards animals and their owners.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will support our veterinarians and technicians in delivering top-notch medical care, ensuring the well-being of our patients, and maintaining a clean and organized hospital.

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.

• Safely restrain animals for treatments and diagnostics.

• Administer medications and vaccinations under supervision.

• Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, feces).

• Perform basic diagnostic tests, including radiographs and blood tests.

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

• Educate clients on general animal care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions.

• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of examination rooms, surgical areas, and kennels.

• Manage inventory and order medical supplies as needed.

• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and answering phones
