Job summary

Benton Veterinary Hospital in Benton, Arkansas is seeking a veterinary assistant to support three doctors with small animal care, including restraints, triage, lab work, radiographs, and anesthesia support.

The role offers hands-on training and opportunities for professional growth in a fast-paced practice focused on preventive and advanced care.

Qualifications

• Veterinary Assistant with minimum 1 year experience preferred.
• Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker and strong communicator.
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs; anesthesia monitoring a bonus.
• Self-starter eager to continue to advance knowledge and skillset.

Responsibilities

• Restrain and handle animals safely for exams and procedures.
• Assist with triage, sample collection, lab analyses and radiographs.
• Support nursing care and communicate treatment plans to clients.

Benton Veterinary Hospital is a well-established, progressive, fast paced three doctor general small animal practice located in Benton, Arkansas. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including Preventative Care, Surgery, Urgent Care, High Speed Dentistry, Cryotherapy, In-House Diagnostics, Therapy Laser, Acupuncture, and more.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.
