Labahn Veterinary Hospital in Fort Smith, AR, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to assist during exams and provide exceptional patient care. In this role, you will work closely with veterinarians to enhance the practice of veterinary medicine while interacting with clients. You will be responsible for restraining pets, aiding in laboratory sample analysis, and supporting various diagnostics.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
In this role, you will assist doctors during exams and outpatient care by providing proper patient restraint, triaging incoming patients, and collecting and analyzing laboratory samples. You will also support treatments and diagnostics, including assisting with radiographs, administering medications as directed including injectable medications, and providing nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients with varying levels of stability.
Strong organization, forward thinking, and teamwork are essential to keeping appointments running efficiently. This position also involves regular client interaction, including answering questions, assisting with appointment scheduling and payments as needed, and helping create a welcoming and professional experience for every client and patient.
This role requires the ability to work in a clinical environment with exposure to unpleasant odors, noise, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases, as well as the risk of bites or scratches.
