Job summary

Veterinary Care & Specialty Group in Chattanooga is expanding anesthesia services and seeking a qualified Anesthesia Technician to join our team.

As a team-based hospital, we provide cutting-edge care with board-certified specialists and opportunities for hands-on learning, CE support, and a supportive work environment.

You will monitor anesthesia, assist with prep and recovery, maintain records, and collaborate across departments to ensure the safety and comfort of our animal patients.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of anesthetic monitoring in a veterinary setting.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary anesthetic drugs and their effects.
• Skilled in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and drug calculations.
• Strong medical math skills and experience with drug calculations.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in critical moments.
• Excellent communication and people skills.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Procedure Prep: ensure patient, equipment, medications, and areas are ready.
• Anesthesia Administration: induce and maintain anesthesia (inhalant, injectable, CRI).
• Patient Monitoring: adjust anesthesia levels and respond to emergencies.
• Recovery: monitor and ensure safe recovery.
• Record-Keeping: document anesthetic procedures and responses.
• Collaboration: coordinate anesthesia protocols with other teams.
• Equipment Management: maintain and calibrate anesthesia machines and related gear.
• Patient Advocacy: prioritize patient well-being before, during, and after anesthesia.
