Veterinary Care & Specialty Group in Chattanooga, TN seeks an Anesthesia Technician to support our anesthesia services. You will prepare patients and equipment, administer anesthesia, monitor during procedures, and assist in post-anesthetic care.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, teamwork, and strong communication while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced specialty environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of anesthetic monitoring in a veterinary setting.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary anesthetic drugs and their effects.
• Skilled in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and drug calculations.
• Strong medical math skills and drug calculations.
• Attention to detail, thorough in critical moments.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multitasking.
• Preferred: Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Procedure Prep: ensure patient, equipment, medications and areas are ready.
• Anesthesia Administration: induce and maintain anesthesia via various methods.
• Patient Monitoring: adjust anesthesia levels and respond to emergencies.
• Recovery: monitor and aid safe post-anesthetic recovery.
• Record-Keeping: document anesthetic procedures and responses.
• Collaboration: coordinate anesthesia protocols with departmental teams.
• Equipment Management: maintain and calibrate anesthesia equipment.
• Patient Advocacy: ensure wellbeing before, during and after anesthesia.
