Job description

Associate Veterinarian at Edgewood Veterinary Clinic – Milton, WA

Looking for a place where your team feels like family, your voice is valued, and your career can truly grow? Edgewood Veterinary Clinic is excited to welcome a compassionate Associate Veterinarian to our close-knit, community-focused practice.

We’re proud of the positive, supportive culture we’ve built — many of our team members have been with us for years, creating a collaborative environment where mentorship, laughter, and great medicine go hand in hand.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Supportive, long-term team culture that values kindness, collaboration, and work-life balance
  • DVMs and staff have an impressive 3–8 years of tenure, creating a knowledgeable, experienced, and genuinely supportive team
  • A friendly, welcoming team culture where people enjoy working together — and it shows in how long our team members stay
  • The opportunity to practice the areas of veterinary medicine you enjoy most, with a team that actively supports doctors in utilizing and developing their skills
  • We’re open to adding new services based on the interests and skill set of an incoming DVM
  • 4-day work week with rotating Saturdays (typically every 4th)
  • Open to full-time or part-time veterinarians
  • Appointments-only or appointments + surgery schedules are both welcome
  • We welcome doctors who enjoy surgery or want support developing advanced surgical skills
  • A strong focus on work-life balance — our team makes it a priority to leave on time

Mentorship & Support for New Graduates

We are passionate about supporting new grads and helping them thrive. Our mentorship program includes:

  • Structured onboarding and orientation
  • One-on-one surgical training
  • Shadowing opportunities
  • Blocked appointment times for additional support and learning
  • An environment where questions are welcomed and encouraged
  • Dr. Lawrence, our Chief of Staff, has extensive experience mentoring veterinarians and genuinely enjoys helping new doctors build confidence and develop their skills

You’ll also have a team around you every day. Each DVM has a personal veterinary assistant for the day, along with 2–3 LVTs supporting appointments, procedures, and surgeries. Our team includes 4 LVTs, providing an experienced clinical support system you can rely on.

A Practice Designed to Support Your Day

We’re a busy practice with a strong appointment schedule, regularly booking out weeks in advance.

Appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes, unless there is a specific reason for additional time.

We also recognize that practicing good medicine requires time to catch up, communicate with clients, and finish the day without constantly feeling rushed. That’s why our schedule includes a 1.5-hour lunch break plus three additional 30-minute catch-up blocks throughout the day. Our doctors and staff value leaving on time, and we’ve built our schedule with that goal in mind.

Our Practice

Edgewood Veterinary Clinic is a full-service hospital committed to delivering high-quality, affordable care while building lasting relationships with pets and their families.

We offer:

  • Preventative, medical, surgical, and dental care
  • In-house laboratory + IDEXX reference lab access
  • Digital radiography
  • Established referral partnerships with Puget Sound specialists

Our approach centers on client education, prevention, and personalized care so every pet can live their healthiest life.

A True Community Practice

We’re more than a veterinary hospital — we’re part of the Milton community. Our clients are loyal, appreciative, and deeply connected to their pets. You’ll have the opportunity to form meaningful relationships while making a real impact locally.

We’re also intentional about making sure our team feels appreciated. Our hospital manager provides weekly snacks, and we enjoy regular team appreciation luncheons, a large annual Christmas party, and a team outing chosen by the staff themselves. Past outings have included Topgolf, haunted houses, and other activities selected by the team.
