HMR Veterans Services is seeking a Cook to prepare meals for residents at the Richard A. Anderson Texas State Veterans Home in Houston, TX. The role focuses on meeting dietary needs while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will follow approved recipes, maintain sanitation policies, and collaborate with nursing staff to deliver nutritious meals to veterans. The position is on-site with no travel, offering full-time hours and benefits.

Qualificações

• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
• One year of healthcare cooking experience preferred; other relevant experience or cook training accepted.
• Able to follow recipes, understand instructions in English, perform basic math, and obtain a Food Handlers Certificate.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare all food items on menu according to pre-determined recipes.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies and procedures, including kitchen cleaning and equipment upkeep.
• Ensure proper storage, preparation and transport sanitation for food items.
• Prepare resident meals and verify they meet prescribed needs with nursing/dietician/physician.
• Stock and rotate inventory on shelves, freezers and refrigerators.
• Maintain regular attendance according to company policies.
• Communicate effectively with staff, guests, and residents.
• Adhere to uniform policy and protect resident confidentiality.
• Coordinate with other departments to plan dietary services.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other related assignments as required.
