Job summary

AFC Development, Inc. in Dayton, OH is seeking compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to deliver patient care to Veterans as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. This full-time position runs 6–12 months with an option to extend and offers quick credentialing to onboard ASAP.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, administering medications, cardiac monitoring, and providing education to patients and families. Requires Ohio RN license, CPR/BLS, and 1 year of direct care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited professional nursing program.
• Current and unrestricted Ohio RN license.
• Current American Heart Association CPR certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of direct patient care experience within the last 3 years.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• ACLS certification (required for certain specialty assignments).

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Obtain and document patient histories and clinical information.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments.
• Monitor patient conditions and document responses to care.
• Perform cardiac monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Operate EKG machines, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, and emergency equipment.
• Respond to medical emergencies and initiate lifesaving interventions when necessary.
• Assist with surgical, diagnostic, and treatment procedures.
• Provide central line and ventilator care as applicable.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, procedures, and treatment plans.
• Participate in discharge planning and care coordination.
• Monitor laboratory results and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Follow VA patient safety, infection control, and privacy standards.
• Complete required clinical documentation and quality improvement activities.
