Job summary

Kia VTAP offers veterans a pathway to become Kia Certified Service Technicians. This full-time program, conducted through participating Kia Retailers, supports skilled Veterans to begin a rewarding automotive career while leveraging GI Bill benefits for a one-year competency-based apprenticeship leading to Kia Technician certification.

Applicants should have an Honorable Discharge, a clean driving record, and be willing to undergo drug screening and background checks.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge is required.
• Valid Driver's License from any state with clean driving record.
• Experience in a technical/mechanical field is required.
• Must be willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests in accordance with Kia policies and procedures.
• Test drive vehicles and diagnose components using Kia diagnostic strategies, special equipment, and tools.
• Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs in a timely fashion while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to promote an optimal customer experience.
