Job summary

KIA Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) in Huntington, NY, seeks Military Veterans with mechanical experience for an Automotive Service Technician role. Participants will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Kia vehicles, gaining hands-on experience while completing a one-year competency-based apprenticeship. The program is GI Bill® approved, providing eligible Veterans with training, support, and a Monthly Housing Allowance during the apprenticeship. Strong troubleshooting skills and a clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles.
• Perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors.

Skills

Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Prior experience in mechanical or technical field
