Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Social Worker to provide readjustment counseling and psychosocial support to Veterans and their families.

The role requires an MSW from an accredited school, licensure at the independent practice level, and the ability to coordinate care across community resources. You will perform intake, risk assessment, treatment planning, and provide evidence-based modalities, with a schedule typical of a federal position.

Qualifications

• Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.

Responsibilities

• Provide readjustment counseling services to Veterans, active duty Service members, and their families.
• Independently implement psychotherapeutic modalities for individuals, families, and groups.
• Conduct intake screening, risk assessment, and develop individualized service plans.
• Coordinate care with community resources and other services to maximize veterans’ independence and well-being.
• Document clinical interactions and coordinate follow-up as required by policy.
