Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Social Worker (GS-9/GS-11) to assess and treat Veterans and their families, develop care plans, and coordinate with community resources.

This role supports diverse patient populations and requires licensure or certification, strong counseling skills, and proficiency in English. Eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) and located in a VA Medical Center setting, with duties spanning assessment, intervention, and care

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• English proficiency in speaking and writing required.
• Master's degree in social work (CSWE-accredited).
• State licensure/certification required at independent practice level (GS-11) or eligible for waiver at GS-9.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Provide counseling and psychosocial interventions to Veterans and families.
• Coordinate services with community resources and other agencies.
