Job summary

Catholic Charities Diocese OF Camden Inc. is seeking an SSVF Outreach Specialist to serve Camden & Gloucester Counties. You will be the initial contact for Veterans, screen eligibility, and connect households to the Case Management Team in the field and office.

Travel within the service area is required. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in social work or human services, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to coordinate outreach and reporting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of entitlement programs and program regulations, federal, state and community resources.
• Commitment to the mission of Catholic Charities.
• Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Personal transportation required.
• Workable knowledge of office software, especially Word and Excel, other data management software.
• Willingness to learn about military culture.
• Possess and routinely apply analytical skills.
• Ability to write clearly and proficiently for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outreach efforts for the SSVF Program with community organizations.
• Develop a schedule to visit VA clinics, hospitals, shelters and service sites.
• Develop program presentations for community outreach events.
• Screen potential participants for program eligibility as determined by the VA.
• Provide Veteran families with referrals and contact information for resources.
• Assist Veteran in obtaining documentation for eligibility and enrollment.
• Participate in program and professional training opportunities.
• Complete reporting in HMIS and other systems as required.
• Complete other duties as needed and requested.
