Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services with 1 to 3 years of experience. Relevant experience may substitute for degree.
• Experience with case management, navigating community resources, subsidized housing placements, homelessness risk populations, mental health and substance use disorders, outreach experience.
• Understanding of Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Cultural Competency and Trauma Informed Care.
• Excellent customer service skills and professional communication with staff and enrollees.
• Proficiency with electronic databases and computers.
• Flexible self-starter with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly enroll SSVF participants through coordinated outreach with NECHV and partner organizations.
• Connect Veterans with community resources and stabilization services to resolve housing crises.
• Ensure timely SSVF funds and services; coordinate with leadership as needed.
• Develop and maintain relationships with landlords and property managers.
• Assess housing barriers and formulate short- and long-term housing plans.
• Provide referrals to VA, benefits, employment, legal, mental health, and other services.
