Job summary

Central Oregon Veterans Outreach seeks an Outreach Specialist to expand access to private and public rental markets for Veterans moving from homelessness to permanent housing. You will build relationships with landlords, coordinate with SSVF and HEAT teams, and support clients in securing and keeping housing.

The role requires strong community engagement, travel across Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties, and ability to maintain confidential client records.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma.
• Experience with indigent or at-risk populations.
• Knowledge of landlord/tenant laws and fair housing.

Responsibilities

• Develop outreach strategies to engage landlords and property managers.
• Meet with clients to assist with applications and housing search.
• Educate landlords about SSVF and community resources.
• Maintain confidential client records and HMIS entries.
• Build landlord relationships and create incentives for housing Veterans.
• Travel frequently within the tri-county area.
• Coordinate with Housing Case Managers to ensure permanent housing.
• Conduct tenant and landlord trainings.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in trainings.
