Job summary

Loyal Source is seeking an Examiner Physician Assistant to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) disability examinations for Veterans applying for VA benefits in Bohemia, NY. This non-treatment role focuses on record review, focused physicals, and objective medical opinions to support VA determinations.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, about 10% travel, and a collaborative environment with QA teams. No prescribing or ongoing patient management is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program.
• Active, valid, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with renewals.
• Strong documentation, communication, and time-management skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe PDF and EMR systems.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Conduct C&P disability examinations for Veterans in accordance with VA program requirements.
• Review medical records, diagnostic testing, and supporting documentation before and during examinations.
• Perform focused physical assessments related to claimed conditions.
• Prepare objective, evidence-based medical opinions and complete required documentation accurately.
• Use proprietary examination and case management systems to organize workload and submit findings.
• Work with the Quality Assurance team to ensure reports are complete, accurate, and submitted within required timelines.
• Maintain compliance with VA training requirements, HIPAA, privacy standards, and Loyal Source policies.
• Support other Loyal Source clinics as needed, with approximately 10% travel.
