Job summary

Loyal Source is seeking an Examiner Physician Assistant in Bangor, ME to perform Compensation & Pension disability examinations for Veterans applying for VA benefits. This role focuses on reviewing records, conducting focused physical assessments, and providing objective medical opinions for VA determinations.

This is not a treatment role and does not include prescribing or ongoing patient management. Working hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with travel approx.

Qualifications

• Active, valid, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license; U.S. practice eligibility.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant.
• BLS certification with renewals as required.
• Strong documentation and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, PDFs and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct C&P disability examinations for VA program requirements.
• Review medical records and tests prior to and during examinations.
• Perform focused physical assessments relevant to claimed conditions.
• Prepare objective medical opinions and complete documentation accurately.
• Use examination and case management systems to organize workload.
• Collaborate with QA to ensure timely, complete reports.
• Maintain VA training, HIPAA, and Loyal Source policies.
• Support other Loyal Source clinics as needed with travel ~10%.
