Job summary

Terrestris Global Solutions seeks a Medical Support Assistant to support the Veteran community in La Junta, Colorado. This role is open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals, with a schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm MST.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of customer service, proficiency in MS Word/Excel/Outlook, a High School diploma or GED, and English fluency. Prior VA software experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
• Minimum 6 months of customer service experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Have a High School education or GED equivalent.
• Oral and written proficiency with English.
• Type at least 50 WPM.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Knowledge in VA software such as CPRS, VISTA, CTM, ISS, HSRM, PPMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to internal and external customer requests in a courteous, professional manner.
• Answer phone and follow proper etiquette; collect information before transferring to nurse or provider.
• Check-in of all patients via scheduling/ISS system.
• Serve as Patient Relations Representative and address feedback and concerns.
• Update patient demographics and insurance capture; monitor faxes and mail per HIPAA standards.
