Job summary

Community Kia of Bloomington is seeking Military Veterans with mechanical experience for the Automotive Service Technician role. This position is part of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program, designed to help Veterans transition into the automotive industry.

The program offers hands-on experience while participants complete a one-year apprenticeship leading to Kia Service Technician certification. Eligible Veterans may receive a Monthly Housing Allowance through GI Bill®.

Qualifications

• Honorable discharge from U.S. Military Service.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engines and transmissions.
• Perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics using Kia diagnostic procedures.
• Complete repair orders and warranty documentation.

Skills

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment

Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field

Education

Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
