Job summary

Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) offers military Veterans a path to become Kia Certified Service Technicians. The program provides full-time employment with a Kia Retailer and a one-year competency-based GI Bill approved apprenticeship toward certification.

Participating Veterans gain access to tools, equipment, vehicles, and training needed to complete the apprenticeship, with potential GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance during the program.

Qualifications

• Honorable discharge required.
• Valid driver's license from any state with a clean driving record.
• Experience in a technical or mechanical field.
• Willingness to pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests per Kia and retailer policies.
• Test drive vehicles and use Kia diagnostic strategies, equipment, and tools to analyze and repair components and systems.
• Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs promptly while communicating with shop foreman and service advisor to promote customer experience.
