Job summary

CityVet South Hulen is seeking Veterinary Technician Assistants with a minimum of 1 year of experience to join our team. Entry-level positions are available as well, and we are willing to train the right candidate.

The Veterinary Technician Assistant helps maintain excellent patient care and supports the Veterinary Technician to improve efficiency in daily practice, while coordinating with front office and client communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age at hire.
• At least 1 year veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to properly, and safely, restrain animals.
• Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication.
• Lift 50 lbs to waist height and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assists the VT in preparing patients for medical, surgical, and dental procedures; helps restrain and handle animals.
• Partner with Vet and VT teams to triage patients per client/facility needs in a fast-paced way.
• Aid VT with appointments, walk-ins, and treatments; record observations and treatment plans.
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed.
