Job summary

CityVet Career Center in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant with at least 1 year in the veterinary field; entry‑level candidates may apply as well, and we are willing to train the right person.

The role involves assisting VTs and Vets, preparing patients for procedures, safely restraining animals, and helping with front‑office tasks and client communication. A strong team player mindset and compassionate care are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of veterinary industry experience; entry-level considered with training.
• Ability to properly and safely restrain animals.
• Familiarity with veterinary terminology and medications.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks daily.
• Excellent communication and listening skills; team-oriented.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assist VT in preparing patients for medical, surgical, and dental procedures.
• Support triage and communication between client, front desk and clinical team.
• Record observations and treatments in patient files; assist with medical tasks under supervision.
• Support Client Service Specialist team when needed.
