Job summary

Binder Animal Hospital in St. Louis, MO is seeking an experienced RVT or Veterinary Assistant to join our busy, team-oriented practice.

You will work across wellness, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, urgent care, and hospitalized patients, collaborating with doctors and techs to provide high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicates clearly with clients, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• RV T credentialing preferred but not required.
• Experience as veterinary assistant in fast-paced setting.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and doctors.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient histories and assist with physical examinations
• Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters
• Administer medications and injections as directed by a veterinarian
• Prepare and monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and collect diagnostic samples
• Position patients and obtain diagnostic quality radiographs
• Assist with hospitalized and urgent care patients
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Communicate treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care with clients
• Help maintain a clean, organized, well-stocked treatment environment
