Binder Animal Hospital in St. Louis, MO is seeking an experienced RVT or Veterinary Assistant to join our busy, team-oriented practice.

You will work across wellness, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, urgent care, and hospitalized patients, collaborating with doctors and techs to provide high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicates clearly with clients, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• RV T credentialing preferred but not required.
• Experience as veterinary assistant in fast-paced setting.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and doctors.

Responsabilidades

• Obtain patient histories and assist with physical examinations
• Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters
• Administer medications and injections as directed by a veterinarian
• Prepare and monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and collect diagnostic samples
• Position patients and obtain diagnostic quality radiographs
• Assist with hospitalized and urgent care patients
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Communicate treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care with clients
• Help maintain a clean, organized, well-stocked treatment environment

Binder Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced RVT or Veterinary Assistant to join our team!
We are a busy, team-oriented hospital providing both general practice and urgent care medicine. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys variety; you'll have the opportunity to work with routine wellness and preventative care, surgery, dentistry, hospitalized patients, diagnostics, and urgent cases.
Our technicians and assistants are an important part of the medical team and are encouraged to use their skills, think critically, communicate with our doctors, and participate actively in patient care.
What you\'ll do:

• Obtain patient histories and assist with physical examinations
• Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters
• Administer medications and injections as directed by a veterinarian
• Prepare and monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and collect diagnostic samples
• Position patients and obtain diagnostic quality radiographs
• Assist with hospitalized and urgent care patients
• Perform patient triage and recognize changes in patient condition
• Calculate medication dosages and fluid rates
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Communicate treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care with clients
• Help maintain a clean, organized, well-stocked treatment environment

What we\'re looking for:
RVT credentialing is preferred but not required. Experienced veterinary assistants with strong technical skills are encouraged to apply.

Schedule And Compensation
This is a full-time position averaging approximately 35-36 hours per week, with a combination of general practice and urgent care shifts.

• Competitive pay based on experience and Missouri licensure
• Additional pay differential for Urgent Care shifts
• $500 sign-on bonus
• Benefits available to eligible full-time employees
