Qualifications

• College or college-equivalent education as required to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician
• Must have at least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or working in a veterinary practice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Compassionate and sympathetic with professional demeanor in stressful situations
• Must have telephone and computer skills

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain vitals, and document in the electronic medical record
• Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision
• Perform patient restraint, process lab samples, and dispense medications under veterinarian direction
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, manage records and accounts receivable
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia, and discharge patients to owner or facility
