Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant to join South Maui Animal Clinic in Kihei, HI. You will support end-to-end care, assist with outpatient treatments, and help with lab work and patient admissions.

You will be part of a growing network of clinics, with opportunities for RVT/LVT consideration, a 4-day work week with Saturdays required, and comprehensive benefits to support you and your family.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year veterinary experience as Vet Tech Assistant or Vet Tech; 2–3 years preferred.
• Registered, Licensed, and Certified Veterinary Technicians will be highly considered.
• Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology.
• Ability to work well in a team and provide excellent client service.
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach.

Responsibilities

• Animal handling and basic patient care.
• Pre- and post-operative patient care support.
• Create and present financial options and estimates.
• Enter service charges into client processing database.
• Extensive client interaction and education.
• Prepare medications and manage administration.
• Take X-rays of animals.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per veterinarians’ orders.
• Draw blood samples for testing.
