Job summary

South Maui Animal Clinic in Kihei, HI, is hiring a Veterinary Technician Assistant (RVT/LVT also considered) to join Thrive Pet Healthcare. This role supports outpatient care, lab work, admissions and discharges, and end-to-end patient care.

The position offers a 4-day work week with Saturdays required, competitive hourly pay $21-$25, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities to grow through Thrive's education programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience as Vet Tech Assistant or Vet Tech.
• 2-3 years in the role is preferred.
• Registered, licensed, or certified veterinary technicians will be considered.
• Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology.
• Strong teamwork and client-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Animal handling and pre/post-operative patient care.
• Enter service charges into client processing system.
• Prepare medications and administer vaccines and treatments.
• Take radiographs and assist veterinarians with procedures.
• Educate clients and discuss treatment options.

South Maui Animal Clinic is looking for a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Technician Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:

• Animal Handling
• Pre- and post-operative patient care
• Creating and presenting financial options and estimates
• Accurately entering service charges into client processing database
• Extensive client interaction and education
• Preparing medications
• Taking X-Rays of animals
• Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments prescribed by our in-house veterinarians.
• Drawing blood samples for testing

Experience and Skills Requirements:

• At least 1 year of veterinary experience as a Vet Tech Assistant or Vet Tech, 2-3 years preferred.
• Registered, Licensed, and Certified Veterinary Technicians will also be highly considered.
• Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology

Compensation-

$21-$25 Hourly depending on experience.
