Job summary

United Veterinary Care in Orange, CT offers hands-on externships for veterinary students across our network of over 100 hospital locations. You will work under supervision in GP, ER, and specialty settings, participating in case discussions and hands-on patient care during your externship.

Stipends are available to offset travel and lodging costs, and mentorship supports your professional development as you gain confidence in clinical skills.

Qualifications

• Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Priority scheduling is given to students in their clinical years on official externship blocks for school credit.
• Must provide proof of professional liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in cases under supervision.
• Be involved in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments.
• Discuss cases with supervising veterinarians to confirm exam findings and plan next steps as part of the team.
