Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Shift Lead to perform paraprofessional duties and provide on-site leadership across shifts. You will support the Practice Manager and COS, guide staff, and help maximize hospital productivity and client service while maintaining compliance with veterinary practice standards.

The role requires 2+ years in healthcare or veterinary settings, a relevant degree or veterinary technician certification, and prior supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or veterinary technician certification preferred.
• Two years of experience (healthcare, veterinary, service industry) required.
• Two years’ experience at Banfield preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Medical background and terminology training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead paraprofessional team and support hospital leadership across shifts.
• Coordinate client flow and ensure high-quality client care and productivity.
• Educate clients about wellness plans and preventive care; assist with procedures as allowed.
• Assist with surgery as applicable and ensure compliance with state practices.
