Job summary

Bellevue Veterinary Emergency + Specialty is seeking a veterinary assistant to support DVMs and licensed technicians in emergency care. You will help with triage, nursing tasks, and patient handling in a fast-paced hospital.

The role requires strong communication with clients, attention to detail, and ability to follow procedures. A NAVTA-certified program and Washington license are preferred, with compensation details listed in the posting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of internal medicine experience as a veterinary assistant preferred.
• Active Washington State Medication Clerk License preferred.
• Certificate from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and licensed technicians with emergency procedures and care.
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and stocking supplies.
• Perform triage, history taking, basic nursing care, and discharge.
• Perform phlebotomy and venipuncture as needed.
• Communicate updates to clients and provide discharge instructions.
• Follow hospital protocols and safety standards.
