Job summary

Bellevue Veterinary Emergency + Specialty in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for the Internal Medicine Department. You will support veterinarians and licensed staff with emergency procedures, maintain clean treatment areas, and assist with triage, exams, and discharges.

The role emphasizes compassionate client communication, attention to detail, and adherence to hospital protocols. A high school diploma or GED is required, with preferred NAVTA certification and WA Medication Clerk

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Washington State Medication Clerk License preferred.
• NAVTA-certified Vet Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and licensed technicians with emergency procedures, treatments, and medical care for animals.
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and stocked supplies.
• Perform triage, history taking, exams assistance, basic nursing care, and discharges.
• Provide nursing care according to hospital standards and core values.
• Record vital signs accurately and monitor patient status during care.
• Adhere to protocols and ensure compliance with regulations.“
• Communicate with clients to update on pet status and follow-up care.
