Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians and ensure safe, high-quality care for pets and clients.

You will help maintain patient flow, assist with procedures, and educate clients on preventive care and our Optimum Wellness Plans. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to NAVTA guidelines to deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure pet safety and continuity of care.
• Maintain flow of patients and communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Assist with procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Educate clients about preventive care and wellness plans.
• Mentor other hospital team members and uphold hospital standards.
