Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring patient and client safety and high-quality care. You’ll assist daily operations, follow NAVTA guidelines, and participate in learning and development opportunities.

You will educate clients about preventive care and wellness plans while helping maintain workflow and mentoring teammates to uphold hospital standards. This role emphasizes compassionate service for pets and families.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program completion or equivalent
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to perform NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program skills

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and treatment areas clean
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care
• Mentor other hospital team members
