Job summary

Evansville Marine Service is seeking a Deckhand to ensure the safety of the towing vessel and assist in safeguarding fellow crew members. You will participate in drills, perform inspections, and help with routine operations such as tying lines, handling gear, and basic maintenance.

This is a hands-on role requiring fitness and a proactive safety mindset. The position involves supporting the Master-on-Duty, assisting with daily tasks around the vessel, and learning emergency procedures to respond

Qualifications

• Speak, read, and write English well enough to maintain logs and follow instructions.
• Able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 70 lbs.
• Willingness to participate in drills and safety meetings.

Responsibilities

• Ensure overall safety of the towing vessel.
• Aid coworkers in safety and hazard reporting.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of vessel systems.
