Republic Services is seeking a Vessel Inspector to ensure safe, compliant operation of our marine assets. You will inspect vessels and equipment before voyages, use navigational data, and direct deck crews to maintain safety while deployed.

You will coordinate with supervisors to adjust plans for weather and environmental conditions. Responsibilities include conducting safety drills, documenting logs, performing maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year related experience in the maritime industry.
• Valid Driver’s License with a Motor Vehicle Record that meets the Business Driving standards.
• May be required to have TWIC, MMC certified by US Coast Guard, Local Boating Certificate(s), state HAZWOPER certifications and passports.
• CPR/First Aid and additional certifications such as Marine Crane Operator or Cold-Water Survival may be required.

Responsabilités

• Inspect vessels and peripheral equipment prior to voyage to ensure safe operation and regulatory conformance.
• Deploy containment boom and spill response equipment as needed.
• Document and maintain vessel logs and inspections.
• Direct deckhands and passengers to ensure safety during hazards.
• Conduct onboard safety drills and safety training.
• Complete paperwork per procedures and regulations, including logs and charts.
• Perform general maintenance and other duties as directed by supervisor.
