Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Vessel Operator to inspect vessels and equipment before voyages, and to operate vessels safely when directed by supervision across oceans, bays, lakes, rivers or coastal waters. You will coordinate crew activities, adjust plans for weather and conditions, and ensure regulatory conformance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year related experience in the maritime industry.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License with a Motor Vehicle Record that meets Business Driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vessels and equipment prior to voyage for safety and regulatory conformance.
• Operate vessel when safe to do so in various waters as directed by supervisor.
• Direct crew activities and adjust float/work plan based on environmental conditions.
• Deploy containment boom and other spill response equipment; maintain logs and documentation.
• Conduct onboard safety drills and ensure accurate paperwork (logs, charts, EPA logs).
