Job summary

Norton Lilly International Inc. is seeking a Boarding Agent in Freeport, TX to coordinate agency, husbandry and administrative tasks for vessel calls.

You will ensure smooth vessel arrivals and departures, complete documentation, and communicate with principals, customers and authorities. Responsibilities include boarding vessels daily, planning weekly rotations, managing billing, vendor coordination, and maintaining accurate port cost estimates and records.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Some college coursework in business management is helpful.
  • Experience in marine agency field is helpful but not required.
  • Verifiable excellent customer services abilities.
  • Ability to enter, generate and retrieve information using a computer.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills with groups and individuals to solve problems.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
  • Must obtain a TWIC.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and some holidays with travel to vessels in port.

Responsibilities

  • Board vessels in port daily.
  • Assist planning and assignment of weekly vessel rotation.
  • Assist with billing procedures.
  • Assist with follow-up and completion of pro forma requests.
  • Respond to principal/customer inquiries per policies and procedures.
  • Assist in preparation of estimates of port costs.
  • Maintain marine vessel files with accurate documentation.
