Job summary

Norton Lilly International Inc. is seeking a Middle Manager to oversee operations in Norfolk, VA. The role demands strong leadership, fiscal oversight, and hands-on safety compliance across offices and port facilities.

You will manage budgets, coordinate with principals and Port Partners, and ensure timely billing and reporting while maintaining high standards of communication and teamwork in a fast-paced maritime environment.

Qualifications

• A combination of relevant education (e.g., degree, certifications) and hands-on experience is preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the Maritime Industry required.
• Minimum of three (3) years management experience required.
• Role is onsite at the assigned office.
• Proficient in using computer software and applications with the ability to adapt to new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain profitable operations across all assigned offices with a minimum profit margin of 12%.
• Ensure timely processing and accuracy of all billing activities.
• Monitor KPIs related to cost, compliance, revenue, P&L, turnover and other metrics.
• Assist in creating and managing operational budgets for assigned ports.
• Oversee P&L responsibilities aligned with company objectives.
• Monitor safety KPIs and training compliance.
• Organize and lead safety meetings and promote best practices.
• Ensure mandatory safety policies are followed and reports are submitted.
• Participate in recruitment and hiring approvals; manage turnover and training requirements.
• Communicate regularly with principals, customers, Port Partners and government agencies.
• Collaborate with teams to achieve goals and foster a positive work environment.
• Train local port office on quality standards and ensure timely documentation.
• Board vessels as needed for training and oversight; build local relationships.
• Support sales calls and events related to customer accounts.
