Job summary

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is seeking an Operations Specialist for the Boat Donation Program in St. Michaels, MD.

The role evaluates vessel donations, coordinates retrieval and storage, maintains donated assets, supports sales activities, and builds strong donor and volunteer relationships. This full-time, on-site position requires knowledge of boats, solid record-keeping, and the ability to work with buyers, donors, and staff.

Qualifications

Knowledge and competency in operation and maintenance of boats.
Competent written, oral, and computer skills.
Ability to interact with donors, buyers, volunteers, and the public.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain accurate records.
Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

Monitor and respond to inquiries from potential donors and buyers.
Evaluate vessel donations against program acceptance criteria.
Present vessels to prospective buyers to support sales.
Coordinate retrieval, transportation, and storage of donated vessels.
Maintain accurate records related to donations, titles, storage, and sales activities.
Clean and maintain vessels and equipment to support sales.
Schedule and manage volunteers for program operations.
Collaborate with the Boat Donation Program Coordinator for documentation.
