Job summary

A.R. Savage & Son, LLC is seeking a Cargo Coordinator to oversee vessel loading and discharge operations. The role serves as the key liaison among vessel teams, stevedores, boarding agents, and principals, ensuring efficient cargo handling and top-notch service.

The position requires boarding vessels at the port twice daily (0700 and 1500) and maintaining accurate reports with photographic/video documentation. A strong customer-service mindset and multitasking ability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Strong intrapersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage a high volume of electronic communications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record, and travel using personal vehicle.
• Must pass Federal and State background checks for Transportation Workers.
• TWIC and Florida Port Pass required upon hire.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vessel loading and discharge operations and act as liaison between vessel, stevedores, boarding agent, and principals.
• Board vessels in port twice daily (0700 and 1500) to monitor cargo operations.
• Capture clear photographs and videos documenting cargo operations.
• Prepare and submit required reports with updates and media to principals.
• Coordinate with principals, ship owners, cargo interests, facility management, and internal teams.
• Support operational oversight by boarding vessels at marine facilities within ports.
• Complete internal administration and accounting procedures per company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
