Job summary

Peerless Pump Company, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, seeks an experienced Assembler II for our Vertical Pump team on 1st shift in Indianapolis. You will assemble, test, and package pumping systems, merging mechanical work with welding and electrical tasks to deliver reliable water solutions.

The role emphasizes precision, blueprint reading, and hands‑on problem solving in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting; prior welding certification and SAP/LabVIEW familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with vocational training in electrical, welding, precision measuring, or blueprint reading.
• Current welding certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics; proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Experience with manual, power-driven, and pneumatic hand tools; lifting equipment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble, align, adjust, and repair vertical and horizontal pumps; build packages into complete pumping systems.
• Mount pumps and accessories to base plates; make electrical connections up to 480V 3-phase.
• Perform hydraulic and performance tests; record results accurately.
• Perform precision operations like drilling, tapping, honing, and cutting as required.
• Interpret engineering drawings to determine assembly procedures and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide training and promote safety, quality, and Lean manufacturing practices.
