Job summary

The Department of General Services (DGS), Division of Capitol Square Services (DCSS), is hiring multiple Trades Professionals in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing for Richmond, Virginia. We value collaboration within a multidisciplinary facilities team and offer education and workforce development opportunities toward licensure.

Selected candidates must have journey-level knowledge, a Virginia driver's license, and the ability to read blueprints and operate diagnostic equipment; sponsorship is not

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia Driver's License required.
• Journey-level knowledge of building systems & trade practices (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or general maintenance).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, drawings, specs, and manuals.
• Ability to document work performed and maintain maintenance records.
• Strong communication with customers, supervisors, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and troubleshoot service calls within your trade specialty (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC).
• Inspect equipment, document findings, and maintain logs for preventive maintenance.
• Support team members in other trades and assist with general repairs as needed.
