Job summary

Augusta County Public Schools is seeking a Full-Time School Nurse (Floater) for Wilson Elementary School in Staunton, VA. The nurse reports to the School Community Health Services Coordinator, Building Principal, and Regional School Health Coordinator, handling wellness promotion, illness care, and health procedures within the school day.

Position requires RN or LPN licensure, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff and families.

Qualifications

• Must be a Board of Nursing licensed RN or LPN.
• Ability to interact professionally with students, staff and parents.
• Knowledge of universal precautions and safety procedures.
• Current certification in first aid and CPR is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
• Respond to health needs and administer medications per policy.
• Conduct health screenings as mandated by state and local regulations.
• Document daily health logs and report concerns to supervisors.
• Communicate with families regarding health-related issues and care plans.
• Coordinate with School Health Services Coordinator and building administrator.
