Job summary

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other care teams to ensure safe, effective respiratory care. Requirements include an associate degree in respiratory care, RCP license, NBRC credentials, BLS, and at least two years of inpatient experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, with a minimum of an associate degree.
• 2 years of inpatient experience.
• Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required: RCP license, NBRC credentials, BLS.

Responsibilities

• Uses respiratory therapy processes to assess patients using pulmonary diagnostics and related data.
• Operates specialized ventilators and assists physicians with procedures.
• Provides medication treatments and therapies per orders.
• Cleans, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment and requests service when needed.
• Educates patients on therapy purpose, technique, and self-care.
• Collaborates with other departments for patient education and problem solving.
• Adapts to department policies and maintains performance standards.
• Communicates clearly and provides accurate patient handoffs.
• Promotes patient safety and reports safety events promptly.
• Teaches and precepts new teammates and students.
