Job summary

The City of Fayetteville is seeking two Fleet Technicians to service, repair, and maintain a variety of automotive, construction, and specialized equipment. The role covers diagnostics, electrical and hydraulic systems, engine overhauls, and preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• Two years of journey level experience performing minor and major equipment repair duties.
• Experience in maintenance of gasoline and/or diesel powered equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain NC Vehicle Safety & Emissions Inspector license within six months.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled mechanical repair and maintenance on gasoline and diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose and locate mechanical issues on fleet assets.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems, ignition, and hydraulic components.
• Overhaul engines, transmissions, and drive-train components.
• Replace parts and service brakes, steering, and exhaust systems.
• Identify and replace wiring, HVAC components.
• Prepare maintenance records and service reports.
