Job summary

GEO Reentry Services LLC is seeking a maintenance specialist in Houston, TX. The role involves preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems in a correctional and community reentry setting.

You will supervise detainee maintenance staff, ensure proper materials, and coordinate repairs while maintaining safety and security. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years general maintenance and/or related construction trade.
• Valid, active driver's license.
• Ability to perform plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical repairs.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and machinery for preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
• Survey assigned jobs and ensure materials and tools are on hand.
• Direct and inspect detainee maintenance staff, providing technical assistance.
• Perform carpentry to repair or replace doors, windows, walls, flooring, roofing, etc.
• Carry out repairs for plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems.
• Perform electrical work, including fixtures and wiring repairs.
• Execute minor construction work with hand and power tools.
• Complete mechanical maintenance of facility machinery, motors, and vehicles.
• Assist in maintaining the security of assigned detainees.
